A cool, fresh breeze is blowing through (sustainable) fashion land this spring and it's blue. Cobalt, baby blue or ultra vibrant. It's all there.

Shapes and style make us wander off to that period in the 90s when the 60s were hot. Think leather and wooden clog sandals, tight-fitting wool knits, platform sandals, patent leather and patch work.

Brands in this style edit

BONNIE CLYDE

The ethical sunglasses brand uses plant-based acetate (an eco-friendly version of plastic). They come in limited edition runs and are only ocassionaly restocked. Glasses are ethically made in a small family run factory in Shenzen. Brand is located and ships from Los Angelas. Expect the sunnies to be eye popping.

EVERPRESS

Everpress offers independent creatives tools to sell, manufacture and distribute their creations. The platform is changing the way things get made. Meaning no risk for the makers. Working with a pre-order allows them to only print exactly what's sold, which means fewer tees made, and fewer tees wasted. Plans to receive B-corp status august 2022.

FELT ATELIER

Amsterdam jewelry brand that makes finger-licking ear candy. With their local, handmade products, Felt brings more color and positivity in the world. Pendants are made with biological resin, hoops with stainless steel. Jewellery are often made to order

GIRLFRIEND COLLECTIVE

Transparent, eco-friendly and body positive active wear made with recycled polyester (made from post consumer plastic bottles). Comes in the brightest colours and figure hugging shapes. The brand really passes on good vibes.

KIND STUDIO

The French believes that beyond its aesthetic dimension, fashion can be the engine of positive change. I couldn't agree more. The clothing brand prioritises natural materials, surplus fabrics, recycled and organic fibres and hand weaving. The brand produces in France and India. The 'proudly made in India' collection is a collaboration with the Chaiim Foundation, which fights for the reintegration and emancipation of women who are victims or at risk of human trafficking. It offers them social support, professional training as seamstresses and then employment. The 'Locally made in Paris' collection promotes local production and French know-how.

L'ENVERS

Timeless clothes made from natural fibers like non-mulesed wool, hemp, organic cotton and linen. Sewn and knitted in small family workshops in Spain and France. Aiming to give back work and a voice to local artisans who suffered from the relocation of the textile industry to Asia. All our materials are carefully selected from mills in France, Italy and Spain. Designed and shipped from France.

MIISTA

Fashion forward and artsy shoes and clothes. Designed in London, produced in Spain and Portugal. The brand delivers several style drops throughout the year. Often in limited edition runs. Over the last ten years the much loved footwear brand proudly built a brand through craft and in close relationship with their community. Recently they decided to do things differently. They built their own clothing factory in Galicia, Spain and started making consciously and slowly crafted clothing.

PANGAIA

It's not really a brand rather a materials science company and global collective of scientists, technologists, designers — bringing breakthrough textile innovations and patents into the world through everyday lifestyle products. Every technology they work with aim to solve an environmental problem of the fashion/apparel & nature industry. They hope to drive these solutions further by making technologies and materials available to companies across different industries. Think of FLRWRDOWN, an natural alternative to feather down or MiDori, a non fossil fuel based treatment for activewear made from microalgae that keeps you cool and dry.

RHEA

A blend of fully traceable wool farmed in Uruguay & lenzing tencel, spun in Austria & knitted in Lithuania. Designed and shipped from The Netherlands. Rhea uses no harmful chemicals in their supply chain and is fully commited to animal welfare and conscious dyeing. What I love is that the brand is 100% traceable (from farm to product) with the help of Blockchain Technology.

SANTANGELO
Born of a childhood spent between California and Sydney, SANTANGELO’s designs evoke a mood of universal sensuality. They are talismans for freedom, hedonism and nostalgia, inspired by club culture, surf movies and the natural world. Now based in New York, SANTANGELO’s pieces are each carefully handmade (to order) by stilist Anna Santangelo using pearls, shells, glass beads, precious metals and stones. The brand works with sustainable materials for packaging, printing and shipping where possible and donates 1% of gross website sales annually to Billion Oyster Project, a non profit organization restoring oyster reefs in New York Harbor

THINKING MU

The Spanish brand knows how to created friendly and fairly priced clothing for a wide audience. Not too niche, not too ordinary. The brand works with organic, recycled and fair trade materials, natural and non-toxic dyes and water based prints.
